This policy explains what data Edu Code League collects when you use the Edu Code League app on iOS and Android and the website educodeleague.com, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We process personal data under the personal data protection laws of Vietnam.
Data we collect
Data you give us
- Account: email and password. We store passwords as one-way hashes and cannot read the original password.
- Profile: full name, phone number, date of birth, avatar (if you upload one), school level, school, province and ward.
- At sign-up: a referral code (optional) and your answer to a short survey question about your learning goal.
- When you contact support: the content of your email or message.
Data created while you learn
- Lesson progress, answers, scores, test and mock exam attempts, and study time.
- XP, level, streaks, daily goal, Tyms, stars and rankings.
Technical data
- A push notification token (FCM token) to send notifications to your device.
- IP address, device type, operating system, app version and error logs when the app connects to our servers.
- The advertising ID of your device, collected by Google AdMob when the app shows a reward video.
Data from third parties
- Your Premium status (plan, renewal date, expiry date) from the App Store or Google Play, through RevenueCat.
We do not collect payment card details, and we do not access your GPS location, contacts or microphone. The app only accesses your photo library when you choose an avatar.
How we use data
- To provide the service: create and secure your account, save your progress and score your answers.
- Leaderboards and statistics: rank users by school, province and nationwide, and calculate score distributions and other aggregate figures.
- Personalised learning: suggest lessons to review, recommend lessons and remind you to study.
- Notifications: review reminders, mock exam announcements and important updates. You can turn notifications off in the app settings or your phone settings.
- Payments: activate and maintain Premium benefits.
- Ads: show reward videos when you choose to watch one to get Tyms or unlock a solution.
- Support and safety: answer support requests, detect cheating in mock exams, stop reward abuse and protect our systems.
- Improving content: find the questions and lessons that many users get wrong, so we can fix and extend them. We use aggregate figures for this.
Information other users can see
When you appear on a leaderboard, other users can see your name, avatar, school, province, score and rank. Your email, phone number, date of birth and ward are never shown to other users.
Sharing data
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the service providers we need to run the app:

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy: Google, RevenueCat and Apple.
We may disclose data to competent authorities when the law requires it.
Ads
Reward videos only play when you choose to watch them. Premium users do not need to watch ads. Where the law of your country requires it, we ask for your consent before we show personalised ads. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in the privacy settings of your phone.
Children and students
Edu Code League is made for students, including people under 18. If you are under 16, use the app with the consent of a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians can contact us to view, correct or delete their child’s data. If we learn that we collected a child’s data without the required consent, we delete it.
Storage and security
- Connections between the app and our servers are encrypted with HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed. Sign-in tokens are kept in the secure storage of your device.
- Only people who need the data to run the service can access it.
Data may be stored and processed on servers in Vietnam or abroad by the providers listed above. No system is completely secure. Keep your password safe and tell us if you notice anything unusual.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. When we confirm a valid deletion request, we lock the account and fully delete your data within 30 days. Backups are overwritten in their normal cycle. We keep only the data the law requires, for the required period, and anonymised statistics.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- View your personal data and get a copy of it.
- Correct your profile in the app (Profile → Update profile) or ask us to correct it.
- Delete your account in the app or on the Delete account page.
- Withdraw consent, object to processing or ask us to restrict it.
- Turn off push notifications at any time.
- Complain to the competent personal data protection authority.
To use these rights, email educodeleague@gmail.com from your registered address. We may verify your identity before we act on the request.
Changes to this policy
When we make an important change, we update the date at the top of this page and tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, you accept the new policy.
